If you’ve never heard of them, DynaCERT is a Canadian company that does incredible work on emission reductions for diesel engines. In fact, the last part of their name stands for Carbon Emission Reduction Technology. Winner of many awards for innovation and design – including a Gold Medal for the 2018 Edison Best New Product Award™ and a prize for Energy Solutions in B2B at the 2019 German Innovation Awards, among others – they are now expanding around the world.

West Tech Mobile Sells HydraGen Systems

The latest development from their labs, HydraGen, was created in collaboration with NASA engineering – and it makes diesel engines perform at a level never before seen, while keeping emissions low and cleaner than ever. Unlike the after-treatment systems, where the actual exhaust gases are cleaned through a DPF, DOC, or SCR after the combustion stage, HydraGen actually controls the combustion itself. This means better fuel efficiency and less emissions generated. And you can get your own right here at West Tech Mobile.

How HydraGen Technology Works

It works by using distilled water to create hydrogen and oxygen gas, a combination which is introduced into the engine’s air intake – after the air filter, and before the turbo. Using this method, the engine produces up to 55% less particulate matter, meaning less regens, less soot buildup, extended life for your diesel particulate filter and engine components, and less back pressure to the engine.

The unit can run at temperatures as low as -60° C, with a built-in heater that kicks in automatically if needed. It uses a maximum of 15-25 amps in the winter – about the same as your headlights – but it only runs when the engine is on, using energy from the alternator that would otherwise be wasted in order to charge its battery. Consuming less than five litres of water for 3000-5000 km of travel at 105 km/h, refilling the tank is the only maintenance you need to do regularly – and a periodic visit for us to top up the electrolyte inside will keep you going strong.

HydraGen Test Results

​Here are some results that verified third-party testing produced in Germany:

• Up to 19.2% reduction of fuel consumption
• Up to 88.7% reduction in nitrous oxide emissions
• Up to 9.6% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions
• Up to 57.1% reduction in THC emissions
• Up to 55.3% reduction in particulate emissions (no black smoke)
• At least 33% longer DPF life
• Up to 60% reduction of Diesel Emission Fuel (DEF) usage

In addition to these statistics, the testers also found that the engines had increased power and torque (from more efficient combustion), and extended engine and oil life, thanks to cleaner oil and less buildup. The gases also brought down the average temperature of the combustion in the chambers, keeping them cooler and extending engine life even further. Each of these contributed to lowered maintenance costs.
Despite the presence of hydrogen and oxygen gases, there is no dangerous accumulation of either, as there is no tank installed. The gases are only produced when the system needs it, and because hydrogen is so light, it dissipates almost immediately in case of excess.
