While Truck Drivers Support Us All... WTM Is Still Supporting Them
In the last few weeks, the world has changed completely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and daily life has been shaken to its very core. With almost everyone staying at home to practice social distancing, many businesses have suffered massive setbacks – some of them overwhelming – and some industries are laying off thousands.
However, all of those people – working or not, healthy or sick, at home or sheltering away from others – still need essential supplies: medical equipment, food, electronics to work from home, cleaning supplies, and much more. And that means the trucking industry, which delivers all of those and more to communities all over the country, is more important than ever as it keeps supply lines moving.
Frontline medical workers get a lot of appreciation and respect these days – and rightly so – but we also shouldn’t forget about the people who are out there, driving day and night, to make sure everyone can get the food and equipment they need to keep going strong. Our truckers are absolutely vital right now, but it’s getting more difficult for them, as truck stops, diners, and many other businesses have shut their doors.
However, as long as our truckers are still going, we want to say that we will be here to support them, too. They can’t do their job without a working vehicle, so as long as they’re still driving, we’re committed to making sure their semis, tractor-trailers, and trucks are up to the task. Our fully-mobile fleet of work vehicles can come out to wherever we need to go, ready to make your rig roadworthy once again. In the spirit of keeping everyone protected, we’d also like to share this link, about some of the recommendations from Transport Canada about how those in the trucking industry can keep themselves safe while traveling and working. With useful guidelines on keeping trucks clean, remembering best practices for stops and gas stations, keeping physical distance, and more, it’s a good resource to keep on hand and use as a quick summary while on the road. If you’re a trucker in the area around Calgary or southern Alberta, and you need preventative maintenance, scheduled service, or emergency heavy truck repairs, think West Tech Mobile – because we’ll still be here and operating through this difficult and unpredictable time, and you can count on us to keep you moving. We’re all navigating through this together, and thanks to the efforts of every driver, we can still stay connected – until we come out stronger on the other side. 10/25/2020 05:43:30 pm
